PinKU Japanese Street Food - Minneapolis, MN

PinKU presents a new concept in fast-casual dining, providing high-quality Japanese street dishes in a modern, streamlined setting.  Our team was presented with a long, narrow space of only 750 SF for the brand's premier restaurant.  We created an efficient plan with a clean and modern aesthetic which can be applied to additional locations in the near future.  Large scale graphics inspired by Japanese kimono patterns provide vibrant focal points in a restrained palette of stainless steel and midnight blue surfaces.  The bright, open kitchen sits in a darkened interior, evoking memories of traditional Kyoto food carts.  Small details such as the tactile wooden menu board, dim table lighting, and exposed electrical conduit harken to the historic alleyways of Kyoto, with a modern sensibility.  The exterior signage and lighting provides a striking moment on an otherwise ordinary street and entices passerby to wander in.
